watching english cars being turned away at Dover as they have closed the route about time to. feel sorry for the lorry drivers who are stuck hope that they can get back either way or are given assistance. wonder what the many english cars that are already here are feeling now that they may suddenly realise that they might not be able to get back soon now. why have they all travelled when they should have stayed at home.
I’m not sure how Brits have travelled to Spain in the recent past. Whereas I came out in September, it has been nigh on impossible for weeks/months without breaking rules (possibly from the SE where the government have fought tooth and nail not to impose restrictions - that worked!!!)
Many of the UK plates are probably those that have been in Spain for some time - and therefore of no greater risk than the local population to others.
I’m not making light of the risk, but I look occasionally (recognising getting to see my second home is a bit of a pipedream, but when its cold and rainy here, inevitably one would so so) and it is simply not possible from here, even were one to ‘bend the rules’ a little (I am not advocating that; it is merely a mental exercise / extended day dream).
Good to see the UK government learned from the Spanish by announcing the lockdown (T4) in London but taking no measures to prevent a frenzied exodus to the areas where the rest of us live. Thanks, Boris.
On the positive side, with the borders closing we can practise for life after Brexit comes into effect. Anyone got any decent turnip recipes?

I’ve just read they are either considering or actually reopening the routes again
Whilst on this topic where’s the logic of Spain demanding a PCR test with negative result if you arrive by air or sea but allowing people to drive into Spain without any such checks

we take note of the GB plated cars in the area and there are a lot of new ones about mostly personal plates so quite noticable perhaps they are the ones with so much money they can do what they want without thought for others.

Why would any sane person automatically assume that someone with "personal plates" is rich and thoughtless. That's like saying any one with a corgi dog must be a Royal.
