Hi there. I read yesterday about UK driving licenses for UK residence that are already living there and the changes on 31.10. this month. I was just wondering if anyone knows the ins and outs for people who move to Spain in the near future? At the moment I live in the UK (38 years). I am German and still hold my German Passport, BUT I hold an English Driving License. Does anyone know if this will cause an issue later on?
If you have residency here in spain and whilst the UK is still part of the EU you can exchange your UK license for a spanish one and just have to satisfy the medical check requirements. After Brexit this will very likely change and will become more difficult although the spanish authorities may provide a grace period for the exchange before the rules change.
