Confused here. With the problems of acquiring face masks I am still of the opinion that for a person who does not have the virus they are of limited use. If you have it or are isolating then they are advisable to wear to protect others. am I wrong in this? Nurses etc exempted as the frequency of what they must be by rights give them pre- protection,

My comment is please use this format it was meant. I am becoming unhappy in comments that are rude and unhelpful which would not be said if the comment wasn't being made behind the mask of a computer. Times are bad lets remain nice to each other.

1. (i) The Irish Health Service has advised against the public wearing face masks. (ii) Donald Trump has advised the USA public to wear face masks although refusing to wear one himself.

2. If any uninvited person arrives  on my terrace today with an opened bottle of vino (from last night's leftovers) don't expect me to be friendly. I'm observing all the guidelines, many are not. I don't see why I should be friendly to those uncaring cretins. I care about my health and the health of others.

I understand that wearing a face mask, unless you are not infected or self isolating, can actually do more harm than good. It encourages you to touch your face more often and can harbour germs. I, personally do not wear one but it is really your choice as to how you feel most comfortable.

There are indeed some cases where you are obliged here in Spain at the estado de alarma to wear face masks (any type of).

For example when 2 persons drive to the airport in a car. Which ist by the way only allowed when both fly off. You have NO choice to wear masks or not . Discussing with the Police o Guardia Civil is not recommended.

So it's better to be prepared, just in case.

I wear a self made mask when I go shopping as a sign of courtesy for the staff working there. They have to wear them the whole day long.
