Hi All. I've been told that to fly back to the UK im required to have a PGR or lamp test for covid 19 up to 72 hours before my flight. Where can I get this test from. I know I need to pay, I can't find anywhere so far. I've called all the big pharmacies, some do the antigen test but I need the full diagnostic test.

Does anyone know where I can get one.

Kindest regards

Cakey

On BBC breakfast show a minister said the legislation for covid testing of arrivals becomes law Friday with Saturday and Sunday being grace days before enforcement starts Monday.

Hi, you can get one at the ev medical centre in vera. It's at the roundabout where the bullring is. You get the results in 48 hours and the price is 140 euros.

Calle Mojigato, 1 esquina Calle Mayor

I have been told the pharmacy in Mojacar by Currencies Direct do them but not sure if it's the one you need to be able to fly.

Having just read the new requirements to enter the UK from Monday 18th Jan, as well as having to have a covid test 72 hours before flying, you will also have to self isolate for 10 days on arrival.

I heard today that uk government is looking at using secure hotels for all arrivals and using facial recognition cameras to make sure “inmates” don’t     leave. Not sure how that would work if you are wearing a mask. Also who pays for such a scheme?

Given the huge costs of Covid so far, and the damage to the economy for some time to come, the cost of this will be immaterial.  And if it saves lives (although Covid is rampant everywhere at the moment, or so it seems, so there is an element of shutting the stable door after the proverbial horse has bolted), then what price would you put on that?

Interesting, did it say just for people flying in, what about the tunnel and ferry, and people coming back with pets. Sounds like another hairbrained UK government scheme to me, not thought through properly.

Why is it 'hairbrained' when entering UK....But when you return to Spain and have needed one for a month now?....You think that is OK? We paid £240 each for ours to return home to Los Gallardos after being in UK for Christmas.....(goodness knows why we went, but hey ho we did)....and needed a reliable(NOT postal) one to return....makes sense to me!

The hairbrained bit is putting people in hotels, the UK government doesn't even check up on people that have been told to isolate in their own homes, (as admitted last night by a government minister on the news last night) when returning to the UK, so how are they going to police putting people in hotels. Plus what will they do with people returning with pets. As I said, I expect this is a knee jerk reaction not properly thought out.
