Hi, am moving with work to Albox. I like to be near the coast but don't want a long commute each day. Where do you reccomend me looking for a rental apartment? Plus are there any English speaking rental agents nearby? Thank you.

Albox is at least 30mins plus from the coast on a good day.  Nearest area would be Vera Playa areas.

What is Vera Playa like, was considering this or Mojacar. Not sure what the journey is like to Albox, have never driven in Spain before! 😁

Taking into consideration that you don’t know the area and haven’t driven in Spain, I would suggest you do a short term rental in Albox near your job and then research the coastal areas for a future move.

You will have no worries at all driving on the motorways in this area , it’s so quiet , the worst case scenario will be about 10 vehicles for as far as the eye can see right down to nobody but yourself , I drive that direction at least 2 times a week , it’s like a scene from a western , without the guns lol .
oh and that’s under normal conditions , during covid it’s even less

I must stress that this is only MY opinion, but if Albox is only important for work, and you don’t mind a daily (easy with no traffic) 35 minutes commute then the coast is far better for relaxation. The Albox area is very nice with some good shop and bars but we had to leave because in summertime the whole area is infested with flies and assorted bugs. It really spoiled the outside living aspect for us. If you can afford fly netting for the house that will help but they are a real pest outside. Of course there are flies near the coast but far, far fewer.  Please rent before you buy cos you may not like where you are. As I say, only my opinion.

I live in Albox and love it. In coastal regions it is very built up and you will find yourself living in a appartment or town house for the same price as a nice house with garden and pool in Albox and surrounding areas. No fly problem here

Hi

Vera is about 54 minutes drive which may be too far if you are going into the workplace every day. In between there is not a great deal as many of the villages are very quiet and remote. Vera is next to the coast. I lived in Huerta Nueva which is a mostly English Urbanisation near Mojacar. Mojacar is beautiful but quite far from Albox.

I used Almeriapropertychoices.com

Here is the what’s app number of Lola who speaks English and is very helpful .0034

634 351562.

The whole office are English but I dealt with Lola too who is Spanish but speaks good English .
wishing you luck .

It’s actually less than 40 minutes and a lovely drive with little or no traffic usually.
