Is there an expat community and is it a safe town to live in?

I have never seen the post on welcome to hell ,but I live just outside of Cantoria ,and I do know parking is the main hell to me ,but I have been in the town on a lot of occasions and it is a typical Spanish town with narrow streets, but a very friendly town that I have seen ,the locals will help if you attempt to speak Spanish ( think they have a bit of a laugh at me trying lol ) there is everything you will need in the town ie banks,shops,medical centre etc only short drive to Albox the main town again with everything you could possibly need plus local pubs have regular entertainment ( usually groups or individual singers ,quiz nights dart competions and various other things ) and there is a Bowling ally in Arboleas just outside Albox which does entertainment as well as a lot of activities to keep kids amused  and you have easy access to beaches etc around the area . I have been here three years and love it .

Forgot to say there is a very large EX PAT community in Cantoria and Albox in fact all of Almeria provence

The “welcome to hell” is graffiti on what looks like derelict land when you look at pictures of Cantoria on the web.

ah that's just old derelict buildings ,actually not a lot about , there are a few empty houses just outside Cantoria but those are illegal builds that were never finished there are thousands around ANDALUCIA region you will be hard pushed to come across a lot of graffiti here   

I moved to Cantoria from the UK a year ago. I wanted a small, quiet, (except for fiestas!) typically traditional Spanish village where there are mostly locals but a decent expat community. 

I got everything I asked for plus the added bonus of attitudes, manners, politeness and behavior not seen in England for a few decades.

I have started looking at cheaper houses in Cantoria. Can anyone tell me if there are regular Spanish classes there, as I would like to integrate and2) what are the views like there? _is the countryside beautiful? 

How you looked at other areas as property is also cheaper not far from the coast ie Palomares, Los Lobos and Cuevas.  All close to beaches and good ex pat communities with plenty of facilities around.  Not sure about Cantoria as don't know it very well.
