Hi Chris, I appreciate its a question you asked many months ago but I've only just joined this forum and was reading through various posts.

We are in Bedar and used WiMax for a few months, terrible. We migrated from Next Communications because their TV service was very poor also but then we started using a sling player from the UK so we could watch our home Sky box and moved back to Next for just internet. No problems with Next for internet and i can recommend them for a reliable service if your able to get a line of sight for their dish. Not sure about the TV service in 2021, i am sure it must be better than we experienced back in 2016/17

Im sure your fixed up now Chris but maybe this will help others.

We currently have land line with internet provided by Movistar but it is not a very good signal. I see mention of other systems such as WiMAX and Next. We do not wish to have a dish. What would people recommend. Not too worried if we lose the landline as it is quite expensive.

Next use a dish that’s approx 350-400mm in diameter. You have to have a clear line of site to their masts. I have just tested the speed and it’s currently 14.6 down and 0.61 up which I’m not happy with as I need 2 mbs up for my camera system to work.

I will try a reset, we only arrived yesterday so hopefully that’s the answer else next are very proactive so it’s just a call

Thank you for the info. Might look into Next when we get there in mid August. No idea if we would have sight of their mast but can ask. Is there no fibre optic in the village? Guess we are spoiled in London. I ask mainly for my son who would like to spend some time there but would need faster broadband for work.

Bedar is probably between 10 years and never away for getting fibre optic. We have owned our property a relatively short time, six years, but that’s a long time in the communication business and nothing has changed up here other than no one uses smoke signal any more 😉

Hi. I am in Bedar and 've been using Albox Online for the last year or so for internet. The initial set up was very efficient, the monthly cost is very reasonable (25 euros pm +IVA with a little extra if you want to add a landline phone) and response to problems (only two so far, each due to particularly violent storms) was fast and personal.  The monthly subscription includes almost all UK terrestrial TV, plus Spanish entertainment. Download speeds are generally between 25 and 30mbps with proportionate upload speeds. Hope this helps......... Steve
