Hello, my name is Jason.  I am a HGV Class2 Driver and hold a PCV License as well.  I am looking for full time employed work.  Will consider most driving jobs.

Hi Jasón, first question, have you converted your Licence to Spanish?

the issue you will face is that you will need a Spanish Carnet de Conducir for most driving jobs unless you reside in UK and drive between UK and Spain.

Hi,  I have not converted my licence as of yet.  It is one of the first things I intend to do once I get out there.

Ok.  You’ll need to obtain your Residencia first, then arrange for licence swap.

You have until end of transition period to swap it ... after that, you won’t be able to convert a UK Licence and would need to re-sit a Spanish driving test - and that would include your HGV and Passenger licences.

when are you intending to arrive?

Ok, couple of good threads regarding what’s required for residency as of now; may benefit you to read them.  I’ll grab one and edit this post with the link

EDIT:
Whole lot of information in this one:

Regulations concerning Residencia as of July 6

Where did you get this information, about having to resist Pcv and hgv if not done before change over

Please provide refference to information

It’s not just PCV and HGV - it’s your driving licence.  If licence not swapped prior to end of transition, you have to resit a Spanish test.

PCV and HGV allow you to drive that class of vehicle on the continent if you are based in UK ... once you take up residency here, you are obliged to swap your UK Licence for a Spanish Carnet de Conducir as a UK licence becomes invalid.

This will apply to ANY permit issued in the UK once you become resident of Spain.

Spain also does not automatically convert over passenger carrying licences.  In the UK, my licence permitted me to drive a passenger carrying vehicle of up to 14 seats with trailer (not for hire or reward) On conversion, that class was not allowed because in Spain it requires a separate test.

For reference see

https://www.andalucia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9772 (most pertinent - would appear you can’t even swap HGV Class 1 now)

from https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain#driving-in-spain

“Driving licence rules will stay the same until 31 December 2020.

If you are resident in Spain, exchange your UK licence for a Spanish one. If you do this before 31 December 2020 you will not need to take a driving test.”
