Hi,

How do all you British residents of Vélez-Rubio watch British TV? We have a huge satellite dish 📡 we have a FireStick we have purchased a VPN (even though I don’t really have a clue what it is) But we still can only watch ITV from about 7pm until 10pm then the signal breaks up! BBC is non existent and the FireStick only gives us Netflix which we already had on our smart TV. None of the catchup channels work either. I have asked Sky when I cancelled our subscription in the U.K. if I could transfer to Spain but they said no. So how can I watch BBC etc especially after the bewitching hour of 10pm?

Hi, we use iptv and get all uk, sky, films and catch up, there are a lot of supplies for it in Spain, it all depends on your internet connection. rubio is very hit and miss on a good internet signal, if you have a good signal then there shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Cliff, thank you for replying. Can I ask you where I get IPTV from, is there a supplier that comes and sets it up for you? My husband and I are not noted for our technology prowess 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes, the guy we use is local he lives in Blanco, his system is really good gives you all of sky plus catchup and lots of films and radio. He will come to the house and install it. you will need to buy a box of him and then pay for an annual fee for it. His name is Nick Gill his phone number is +34 668172761 a very helpful guy,

Hiya, I can’t seem to get hold of Nick I have rung a few times but I can’t understand the voice message (it’s in Spanish of course) is this definitely the correct number for him? Sorry to keep hassling you.

Hi,

Having had a house in Rubio for 12 years we have tried all the various methods of getting UK TV.

It really does depend where you live and which 'service' your hardware can 'see'.

If all you want to watch is BBC and ITV channels then simple satellite will probably suffice and cost you nothing if you already have a SAT Box.

We had a guy come in and turn our dish 90 degrees from where we thought the signal came.

IPTV is OK if you want all the services but there is a price and you can regularly get buffering even with a good internet connection.

Agree that Nick is a good guy so ask his advice but be sure what it is you want to achieve from traditional TV

As for your Firestick, it will work for somethings but not BBC unless you 'trick' the box with the VPN to think it is in the UK but even this is often detected by the BBC software. BBC will not let you watch any BBC station, even iPlayer, unless you are resident in the UK. Not sure about ITV Hub as I have never tried it.

Hope that helps

Hi.  If you want to watch UK TV and have a fire stick, you need to download some apps on it such as Livenet TV.  If you want catchup then I can recommend TV mucho although that is about 45 euros a year off the top of my head.  You can catch up for the previous 7 days.  It has most of the channels you probably need. Obviously works through the internet and if you have a decent signal you should have no problem.  Have a chat with people around to see if they can help you download it. I am sure there must be people who will do this for you as there are quite a few around the Arboleas and Albox area.  I suppose with the lockdown there may be somebody who can talk you through the procedure on messenger or WhatsApp.  Good luck
