Hi, we have been looking at some beautiful properties up in the mountains and just wondering why they haven’t been snapped up. We don’t want to live in a town but a 10 minute drive to some shops is fine, similar to where we live now. We prefer a Mountain View, not coastal and quite secluded. Is there a reason that the villas with Mountain View’s are not being bought? Land slides, crime etc. we are planning to fly over soon to check out some properties and areas with a view to spending longer letter in the year and out of season before we fully commit. Just wondering if we should discount our top 3 properties already 😢🤔

It tends to depend on in which mountain area you have seen the properties. If you can be more specific ( ie Bedar, Cortijo Grande, El Pinar etc) it will be easier to give you some insight which may answer your query.

We have a house in Los Lobos and the house next to ours has been on the market for a long time. I can't  understand why. It is an absolute gem with beautiful  views and only 10 mins from nearby towns and beaches. I hope this is on your list to view.

Hi, thank you. Could you private message me details please. We are looking for 3/4 bed with a pool and Mountain View’s, maybe some land but open to making alterations if required.

This property doesn't have a pool or lots of land.  It is advertised on this website as 3/4 bedroom property in Los Lobos.  Please contact the owners for more information.  I'm sure they wouldn't mind me bringing it to  your attention.

Thanks but we are looking for a property with a pool and views in an isolated position. Looks lovely tho and thanks for the recommendation.

We looked at a few, what you would call, isolated properties during our search. A few really nice ones, but In the end each were dismissed for various reasons. One thing we found was that none of them had pools. They were on rustic land and you would not be able to get permission for an in ground pool.

Okay thanks. The ones we have seen online all have pools but I was worried about the mountain backdrop, maybe not much sun or mudslides. We are awaiting an offer on our property before we can book flights to view any of them so just gathering information at the moment.

You are so right to look before you commit..... what you may not have been told on the agents particulars are things like...Next to a pig farm..... goat farm...... someone who has dogs that bark all night! When you do view please go at least twice more without the agent, if you love the place. Go late evening to listen for dogs..... or when the wind is in the opposite direction for farm 'smellls' nearby....  Good luck...

We have done house sitting in several properties in mountain villages or remote locations . We love it but generally have found the noise of feral dogs barking all through the night so tiresome - one will set them all off and it generally carries on until the cockerels start in the pre dawn hour and all the way through to daylight - it can be horrendous!

You really need to spend a night or two in whatever village or remote area you have found before you buy.

Good luck
