I'm moving permanently from the UK to the Mojacar Playa or Vera Playa area in December 2018 and would like to meet other expats as well as integrate into the Spanish community. I'm particularly interested in learning Spanish as well as Music and The Arts generally (I'm a skilled pianist). I'm also interested in walking, biking and keeping fit. I'm easygoing and gregarious with a good sense of humour. I would really appreciate any advice on the above interests. Ian Garner.

Hi Ian

You could join the new club called Come and Look at What I Made, www.comeandlookatwhatimade.club for people who want to learn more about the artisans in the Costa Almeria.  A good way to meet new people and learn about the area you are going to live in.

Regards

Paul and Jo

Dear Paul and Jo, Many thanks for your reply. I shall follow the link that you sent  and hope to bump into you once I'm in the area which should hopefully be before Christmas.

Kind regards, Ian.

Hi Ian. For learning Spanish may I suggest Espanglish language academy in Vera.  It's on the road leading up into Vera Pueblo from the Iceland supermarket roundabout, just a bit further up from the bull ring and on the opposite side of the road, on the corner.  If you decide to call in just say that Sue Lewis recommended them to you  (I used to work there). If you are into fitness why not cone and try one of my Yoga classes at Mojacar Sports Centre every Monday and Friday at 11.00. I have a great group of Yoginis of different ages and levels of experience - many of them using the challenging style of Yoga I teach to supplement their other fitness training. You are most welcome to come along and try a complementary sample class to see if this style suits you. All the best, Sue.

If you are up for running/walking 5k then El Bandido runners run every Saturday and Wednesday morning 9am from outside the Best Indalo Hotel, Mojacar. We run/walk along the Paseo. All abilities/ages welcome - we are a very friendly group. 22nd December last run of this year and then back to it on Saturday 5th January 2019. All completely FREE - just turn up and join in. You'll spot everyone in their blue/orange tops :)

Hi Ian,

I just was lookigfor some contacts in the Mojacar, Vera area and I saw your post.

Just in a nut schell ... I am a sapaniard with old relatives in Lubrin, Almerica, living actually in a city close to Barcelona though I have in mind the possibility to try the area of Mojacar and Vera, Lubrin is a cute village but perhaps too small for me. I have been living in the States several years... Sorry for my gringo English...

How have you been yur experiences in the area, would you recommend Mojacar and/or vera? Have you got what you were looking for and also have improved your Spanish?

Let's be in touch,

Cheers,

Angel

Hello Ian,

I have a friend, Lynne, who lives in Mojaca, and I think you and her could be good company for each other.

I realize that you posted your message some time ago, so perhaps not relevant now?

I suggested She put a message on Mojacar forum and Costa Almaria forum, so have a look and see what you think.

All the very best,

Sandra
