Good morning,

Facebook publishes announcements re vaccination for particular age groups and locations. Today and tomorrow is in Huercal Overa for those born 1960 in area North Almeria. That's me. However I have not received an appointment. There is a number to phone which is constantly busy. Only got on the national health database last week as I have private health insurance, maybe this accounts for the lack of appointment?

Has anyone been to one of these centres on the back of these announcements without an appointment please?

Hi, my mum was in the same situation as you, private healthcare and  got on public health data base the day before her age group were being vaccinated. I took her on the day her age group was being given the vaccine and they gave it to her no questions asked.

So you have got your 2nd appointment date/time/location already? Or do you mean you have been told you will recieve your 2nd appointment by text nearer the time?

Hello,

Many apologies, I do not have an answer for you, but I do have a question.

We arrived on the 9th of December, we are still waiting for our registration to go through. Apparently, although it normally only takes a maximum of 3 months, they are still quite behind on all applications they received before 31 December.

Neither my wife or I have had our vaccines. I am 60, and considered by the NHS as an at risk adult.

From reading through this post, it looks like you have to be on the national Spanish database before you receive your invitation, or indeed before you could just turn up?

I was born in 1960, so from this it looks like I could get my vaccination. Do I have to be on the database before turning up? If I do need to be on the database, how do I go about doing that?

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice posted.

Hi Brian,

I am not an expert on this so apologies for any errors or omissions!

I don't think there is a straight forward answer, can only tell you what I know through my experience.

My husband and I went on the health database as we only have private insurance. You need to download print and complete the form available at www.sspa.juntadeandalucia.es.

The form you need the registration in BDU for covid 19 vaccination for foreigners.

Take this with your padron, passport and TIE to the health centre. We are in Mojacar and this is the Urgencias. The above site lists the centres for other towns. I guess from your question you don't yet have a TIE? Really don't know if you can register without, maybe Google it? or just try?

Once on there you should get notification of appointment. Notification of vaccination days and details of age and residential location are published on Facebook North Almeria Health Management Area.

As far as I know you wait for your details to match and then go along. I went without an appointment as had only just got onto the database. About 30 mins after I had been vaccinated I received an appointment for 1 hours time! So all appears to be working well. later I received my follow up appointment.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Good luck

Hi all are you sure that people in the mojacar/vera/Garrucha areas come under Northern Almería? I thought they were in an area of their own.  Huercal Overa appears to be doing very well in relation to vaccines.  I am 66 hubby is 64 and we are registered in garrucha, spoke to the doctor today when I was there for something else and she said the vaccine process is nothing to do with the health centre (even though that's where you register). If we were able to go to HO we would have been vaccinated by now.

Thoroughly fed up with whole process, still waiting for a resolution on my residencia and that's been going since 19 Dec.
