Unicaja Banco online banking blocked

Dear readers,

I have a non resident account with Unicaja Banco and my online banking does not work.

After entering my username and password the banking service is supposed to send my mobile phone a security code however i have never received a security code in all the three years i have been a customer.

I have even tried calling the online banking number from the UK which is expensive especially when you have tried this a number of time (one hour) and not able to get anybody that can speak English.

I have also sent the bank a number of emails using google translate to get the Spainsh wording correct and all I receive is notification read receipt but no reply.

I was wonder in any other non resident have had similar issue when trying to the Unicaja Banco online banking service.

Hi there;

Check that your mobile number (if it’s a Uk number) includes the international code.

I had the opposite problem I that my Uk bank only recognized Uk mobiles; fortunately, I was able to amend this by calling the bank direct, thus enabling my Spanish mobile to accept codes via the Uk.

Maybe check your online banking settings

This has just started happening on my partners account, also a UK mobile. It did used to work but the last week has stopped, wondering if it's a change in policy for UK numbers? Try this gentleman, [email protected], hes based at the Mojacar branch, speaks English and has helped us out with a few issues.

I accessed my account via Web last night no problem. Only requires name and password entered via online keyboard. Downside is they now charge 10e per month

Yes this is the second hike it went from 4.5 to 6 now to 10 euros a month it’s a bit strong

Thank you reader that have relied to my message.

I have finally got a email response from the online banking mailbox informing me that they have a technical problem in sending messages to foreign phone numbers, the security code is not reaching them to access online banking.

They suggested an alternative method but that did not work either.

Its costing a small fortune to keep calling their online banking helpline from the UK only to be keep in a queue or getting nobody that can speak English..

I have even emailed them asking them to get an English speaker to call my UK number which does not happen. 

I guess I will have to wait until Enrique is back from holiday as he has always been very helpful.

 I have got to the point that I am seriously considering changing banks, as this has happen to me on a number of occasions in the past. Any suggestion as to a good bank around the Vera or Majacar area.

Hi Mark I'm in the same boat as you.only noticed last night when I tryed looking at my balance.still waiting on my security code.will keep you updated on how I get on.it may also have some think to do with them merging with another bank.got a email from them last wk.the bank there merging with is liberbank.

His out of office says 8th August. He is very helpful.
