I moved to Cantoria last year after six years in Almanzora. I like the town, happy with shops and market but I have not spoken with anyone for 8 months. Almanzora had a lively bar/cafe scene where it was easy to make friends and have a chat. Here in Cantoria I am Billy-no-mates sitting alone with my coffee or tubo with only my dogs for company.

Try Sarah’s cafe - we went there with our dogs and quickly got into conversations with ex-pats who were all very friendly

Sorry to hear that - it was buzzing in January when we were there. The square was always busy with ex- pats on market days

Hi, dont know where you got that Sarah's is closed. I use it regularly and can definitely confirm it's open. It as been closed during the day due to the Fiesta taking place over the weekend and has opened at 7pm. Everything will get back to normal in the next few days.

As Jimh said give Sarah's a try. Market day is probably the best day initially, I'll keep an eye for you when I'm out. Cantoria bar can also be a good place to meet. What type of dog do you have, helps to recognise you.

Hi, it came up on Google maps but was obviously an error. I have three dogs, a Podenco that I am fostering and two Heinz rescue dogs. I am not well at the moment so it may be a while before I get out again. Thanks for your comment.
