If you apply for, and take Residencia before 31/12/20, you are obliged to spend no more than 6 months of any year outside of Spain.
To pay tax in the UK, you’d have to spend 183 days of the year there (or I guess working at locations that pay into UK account)
But here’s the problem - that means you are spending only 182 days at most in Spain, and to maintain Residencia you have to be spending 183 days - and therefore tax resident - in Spain.
There are rules against double taxation - i.e. if your taxed in UK, you can’t be taxed on the same income in Spain.
I’d strongly suggest speaking to a tax accountant about the tax side, but the short answer is yes, you can work remotely as long as you are not out of Spain more than 182 days aggregate in the year. This is good up to 31/12 .... after that, things change quite radically
