...rum, and another forum member has contacted Mundi Abagados and sent me directly their advice; to whit whilst CAB Spain and many lawyers will say that a de-facto partnership is fine for Residencia, their experience with Extranjeria is that it most definitely isn’t. To be recognised, a civil partnership must be recognised and attested to by “relevant authority” (whoever that may be!!) in country of origin and apostilled AND translated!! And even then, 80% or more of the time it’s not accepted. They like marriage certificates here. If you are already married, ignore previous paragraph 😂
Income. Now, as I understand it, owning property here does assist with Residencia, but not renting - I speak from experience here 😁. For Residencia, it is proof either of income of 5.300€ per annum per person applying OR an annual average bank balance of 9.050€ attested to by certificate from bank in Spanish.
Do you have lawyers here already? Please please confirm the above with them as things at Extranjeria change fairly quickly
Hi
Many thanks for your quick reply. We converted our civil partnership to a marriage some years ago so we do have a marriage certificate.
As you say we will get our lawyer to check everything out for us.
Once again may thanks.
