Hi there
I am hoping for some advice as to where to buy a water softener. It has to be for the whole house.
If anyone knows best place to buy one, they are usually electric and you put bags of salt in.

I have a second hand one for sale on Market Place on Facebook. It was approx €600 when purchased and installed. The reason we have removed it is that when it is set by the time clock to drain the water, somehow it started to discharge water under the house. We decided not to dig everywhere up to see where there was a blockage. I have attached the brochure for you to look at. Removal from my house to yours can be arranged, at your own cost by a local legal company who speak English. It is the larger type which also filters the water to our large swimming pool. You are welcome to come and see it. Looking for around €250 for it. Regards

I will speak with our plumber about it and then get back to you.do you know what caused the water to discharge under the house? Is there an issue with the filter itself ? The reason I ask is because we had already purchased a second hand one the problem with it is we would need to replace a manifold that started to leak. We decided against it in case something else went wrong and we would have no guarantee.

Hi there. The drain which you can see in the enclosed space into which the water system drains during the night, where it is situated is blocked. We knew this as the water was running out across the tiles from the drain and not the unit itself. If you want to ask more about it, please speak to Carlos Saliente, plumber and gas engineer here for 16/17 years, on 620 742 954. He showed us how to work it when we bought this house last year. He also disconnected it when the drainage drain blocked. You could see this is where the water was coming out of and not out of the water softener itself. Carlos is going to offer it to any customers who ask him for one anyway. This may help with concerns you may have that there are issues with it. He would not do this if there are any problems.
