Hi, we are planning to move to the Arboleas area and are coming again in September. Can anyone recommend a good estate agent who can help and advise on the entire procedure, we would like to start talking and register with someone trustworthy. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks in advance, Claire.
Hi We used Ameria Car as [email protected] service. Took note of what our wishlist and found us our Spanish home. Jolene was also very active throughout the process ensuring it went as smoothly as possible.
We also used Mario Redondo ( marioredondosolicitors.co.uk.as solicitor. He is english speaking, and very thorough.
We can highly recommend both companies

Very helpful member
Maybe it's just us but we have bought and sold in Spain more than once. I personally haven't found an agent who has been 'worth their salt'. I couldn't even recommend a 'best if a bad bunch'. Our experience is that they only interested in themselves. The last shower we encountered even sent my personal information and information about our contract to another client with the same first name! When I complained she replied 'Oh woops'🤔
Solicitors have been a different matter. We have used a couple over the years. Without a doubt I would recommend Maria Moroto at Mundiabogados.
I agree with Lospardoslady the word Trusted and Estate Agent dont gel. Buyer beware. Check everything yourselves, because Estate Agents will tell you anything to get a sale.

Sorry that should read Almeria Casas. ( apologies for my misspelling)
We live in Partaloa approx 10 mins from Arboleas. Reading the other replies I agree. Estate agents are businesses but with a good solicitor the process is fairly simple.
Do your own research into the area you want to buy, don't rely on others advice. It's got to be what you are looking for. Speak to the locals. Preferably visit the area at different times of the year.

...nks in advance, Claire.
Spanish houses are not only for sale though one estate agent, I'm not sure of the legal details, but the same house is often for sale on several lists, sometimes at different prices. Estate agents continue to advertise houses months after they are sold, to attract new punters - we had chosen six to see on an advertised list, none was available. If they are not currently attached to electrical services it is a tough legal battle to get them connected ( some appear to be connected when you view them, but they are hooked up illegally as you discover lately). Many many modern villas are illegal even though they are lived in - there may be big future bills to make them legal or to sell them. If it is decided later to build more houses, you cannot object and can be charged thousands for improved roads and lighting etc, even when your house is less attractive because your views are lost. You may be able to change interior walls etc in your house, but we have found it impossible legally to add anything to the footprint of the house that adds to the shape - estate agents do not tell you this... It is more difficult to get permission to build a new swimming pool, particularly anything over a s mall size, than agents will tell you- if you want a house with a pool, buy one that has one.
I am still glad we went though it all though, so go for it ( with a lawyer quite searate from the agents)!
I would not personally use any solicitor in the Albox area and have others have said, I would look no further than Maria Moroto. Maria is first class.
