Hi, don't know about Antas but Arboleas is very much an ex-pat area. There are a few bars, shops, banks, etc, town hall has English councellors and there is a very good school for learning Spanish which I think is free for people who come within the boundaries. From the town to the beach is 40 minutes but Arboleas stretches a long way and you can be 20 mins from the town so you could be an hour from the coast.

 Good luck,

Paul.

My name is Mona and with my husband Alex we are considering moving to the Costa de Almeria. We will be living there all year round and would love some views on the best areas to move to.We want facilities to hand i.e shops, restaurants and health facilities and no hilly terrain,as we are both healt...

...hy now we must look to the future.Thank you.

Hello Mona/Alex,

We are hoping to move very shortly to Albox as and when the legal stuff is done. We have chosen Albox because it is a lovely market town, with everything you could need day to day wise, it's away from the coast by approx 40mins(Mojacar). We have bought a property about 5kms out of the town which is about a ten minute drive !

We looked at Arboleas and whilst it's a nice town ( also has a great market) but it does have a great deal of expats living there and we wanted a bit more of the Spanish countryside !! We have a beautiful 60 degree view from our sun terrace of the surrounding mountains. Good luck in your search and hope you find your dream home.

We live on the Bodrum peninsula in a beautiful place called Kucukbuk  Gundogan which has Turkbuku on one side and Yalikavak on the other. It is very quiet in winter but has been really busy in the summer. It is where most people from Istanbul and Ankara escape to for their holidays. It can get ...

...cold from Dec to April but ofter it is colder indoors than outside, even with heaters, the houses dont hold the heat.We have a few reasons why we are moving, we have just become grandparents and want to be nearer our family in Brussels, two and a half hours against four and a half hours and much more in winter as the direct flights stop at end of Sept, could be anything up to ten hours. The  Bodrum area is hilly and we are getting older, although we have spectular sea views we have plenty of steps to climb. The last more important thing is you cannot get private health insurance over 65 years.Turkey used to have a reciprocal health with the UK but Britain ended that a few years ago.

Hi interested in you comments on Turkish healthcare.  We are looking at turkey as well as Almeria. Do you happen to know of any healthcare options for healthcare over 65 if living in Turkey.  We would be there a max of 6 months of the year.

Many thanks Denise

Hi Denise I dont know of any in Turkey. You could try a private company in the UK. BUPA or PPP they would probably insure you for 6 months.Good luck.
