... terms of altitude as it gets cold in Winter (We stayed the other side of Huercal-Overa for 3 months and that convinced us not to stay there as it was cold in the winter and a bit remote +750 metres. If you are looking at a particular area then narrow down your search on the Place in the Sun Website with your specific criteria. If you are looking inland then Huercal-Overa has a good hospital and facilities but we recommend the areas of San Francisco and El Saltador, we also like Cantoria and Almonzora but you are getting further from the coast. If you want a Spanish Solicitor then ask on here as people know who to avoid, We use Maria Moroto in Vera and she is excellent and was recommended on this site. I agree with Matthew - Rent for 6 months before buying and use them 6 months to see where you want to buy - It will take that long to find somewhere and buy it

Arboleas wouldn't be my cup of tea nor would Albox but each to their own. Arboleas has a very high ex-pat community if that is what you are looking for, you won't need those Spanish lessons :)

Where are you Jimh? as we have never been to the area it is a difficult decision, the dream is, a spanish village with a mix of locals and ex pats where we can make friends and get involved with the community x
