We had a similar question on one of our other forums and one of the members said this(The area is the Costa Blanca near Torrevieja but it may give you an idea of where to start ):
"I have just purchased in (Spain) and decided to get a survey done (much to the amusement of the Agents and locals who had never encountered anyone wanting one done!!).
It was arranged for me by Abaco, the Conveyancing/Legal firm I used to make the purchase. It cost €300 and there was an option for a very extensive one for €500.
The Architects that did it were José Javier Santo-Tomás Martín, Avda. Costa Blanca, 189 03191 Pilar de la Horadada. Alicante - C/ La Cruz, 10. 30151 Santo Ángel-Murcia. I got an 11 page report (all in Spanish, but Google Translate is excellent to convert it) effectively stating all was well except for 5 cosmetic things that were detailed and photographed.
I don't have a phone number for them and have no idea if the price I paid was good, bad or indifferent, but it gives peace of mind and I did get a small discount on the Buildings Insurance because I had had one done."
