None of my business - But, would a 2 bedroom apartment be cheaper and more suitable for you?  Villas tend not to have cheap rental.

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for replying we are open to anything that’s comfortable but having a older dog a ground floor apartment with a garden might be ok, have you anything in mind

Hi, me and the wife and 3 dogs are renting a villa in Arboleas until the end of January. However, we are buying our own place so will be moving out in December. I have paid up front but if you were interested, I may be able to fix it with the rental company, so I get January refunded and you get a 3-month rental.

This is the villa and its 700 euros a month plus electricity and water.

It has internet, hot and cold air con, and a pool.

Let me know if you are interested and I will ask the rental company.

Cheers, Tony

Hi Ruby, I have nothing in mind (just being honest). 2024 is a long way off in terms of rentals although making enquiries now is probably the right way to go. The main thrust of my previous post is that Villa rental can be expensive compared to normal apartment rentals.

There is so much that can happen with holiday apartment owners in the next 14 months. Some Brits who were never going to vacate Spain are selling up because of Brexit and other reasons (but mainly Brexit). Your own lifestyle might change too in the meantime which might necessitate different accommodation requirements later.

Also, I'd be concerned with a ground floor apartment with garden (private garden = no problem) but communal garden could lead to problems with your dog and other residents (again it's just my opinion). I can see the case for renting an apartment with a large roof terrace or at least a large terrace which would not be ground floor.

Likely, Spain along with the EU and UK is heading into a recession - if they are not in one already (Economy, War in Ukraine, external and internal pressures etc).

If I were you I'd not be parting with deposit money this early.

But, the good news is there'll be little or no problems with future off season rentals in the Costa Almeria region in 2024.

I think you will find it quite difficult to rent an apartment that will accept pets.

Hi  Mathew

Thank you for all you input,  the only reason I’m looking early, is when we were over in Spain 2 years ago a well known estate agent was booking up a rental 18months in advance, she said rentals goes really quick especially for winter long term rent.

Once again Mathew thank you for your advice it’s been well received
