Room for everyone , just do it right. I had my own kitchen installations business for 20 years in the uk , and never had a bad word against me , I will continue to do out here.

It’s funny cos I’ve not had any help with finding the right suppliers , I’ve done it all on my own without speaking a lot of Spanish. , seen so many posts where people were saying you won’t last long if your work is crap, I’m sure you wouldn’t , trust me there’s zero difference out here just do the job , charge reasonable price and in time you will build.

Problem is of course in the building trade we tend to get tarnished with bad name due to a small handful of builders that did appalling jobs in the early 000s .

I have come across 3 people now that have locked themselves out in just a small complex and they were charged roughly 100 to drill locks

Hi,

To add to Kevin I would merely add that in The Almeria Focus Magazine and Directory, also on line, we have 5 locksmiths advertised of which one is in Albox and.one in Arboleas ( Phil the Pick) who is well.known.

In addition I know of another Spanish locksmith with shop in Mojacar Playa. Actually he tried to pull a fast one on me.

So a)'you would require to advertise aggressively,

b) be mobile,

c) come out with sufficient funds to tied you over for what might be an extended period.

The offer of accommodation is attractive.

You quite often see posts on Forums asking for emergency assist.

Hope that's of some small help.

Bob and Sandra

Mojacar Playa & Puerto Lumbreras.

On another note , be prepared for the extra cost of €285 per month that you have to pay , also bear in mind that there’s a lot of people that want to pay cash for a job to be done , which also means the client will not be covered on insurance.

I’m more than happy to pay 20% and get receipt and be insured , but some people are prepared to take the risk. Depends on what trade you are I suppose , but I work mainly inside homes , so I pose a higher risk than what a lock smith would.

There are many good trades out there that do a great job and are proud of what they do , I constantly help people out for no charge cos that’s how I am and I’m semi retired.

Think the building game has got the worst history of all, then again the motor trade is deff second , and Ive had equal experience in both Lol

For the pleasure of being self employed lol That’s what it costs regardless of weather you choose to work or not that’s why so many work for cash. They are literally everywhere , and advertise openly about taking cash

What regiment? Ex forces myself as of 2003.

There are all manner of ways he can advertise, several of them free. Thinking of the forums/facebook, etc. Hope he will.have a smartphone.or internet. May be as well having advertising leaflets, Cards, etc printed in UK. Easier & cheaper.

Maybe arrange for a Spanish sim so he has a telephone number.

BEST WISHES
