There's no denying the pig farms are around. There are flies throughout the area anyway, I'm not sure how much worse they might be in pig farm central. The smells come and go, you can become accustomed but I would say if I were to buy property in the future I would not want to buy right next to a pig farm.

Here as opposed to the UK the animals are always indoors,  which helps some.

If you are traveling around the area the pig farms are easy to spot if you know what to look for....long low buildings with tall round feed silos at the ends.

Buy in Arboleas, pig farms (garanjas) are not allowed.

Sorry to jump on someone else's thread,  but I have been advised against looking in Arboleas because of the pig farms and flies.   I was really gutted as this was the area we had set our heart on.  You get so may conflicting stories it's hard to know what to think,  but if what you are saying is true then I am thrilled - I can go back to looking in my favourite area. Thank you !
