Hello everyone

Is there anyone out there, who has recent experience of getting married in Gibraltar?

Any advice, contact details, rules and regulations, etc etc would be gratefully received.

Perhaps we could meet up, over a coffee, to discuss.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm looking into this as well and seems to be quite straightforward. If you look up wedding services in Gibralter they can email you with any information you need. Please pm me if you get stuck.

Hi there; I got married in Gibraltar November 29th 2017, so quite recently.

Firstly - use a service - I can recommend Charmaine at Sweet Gibraltar Weddings.  They offer a whole wide range of packages to fit every budget.

Secondly - BOOK NOW!! It’s polular and your heading into the time of year when a lot of people think the same way - it gets booked up quickly.

Legal requirements: British Passport, birth certificate, one night in Gibraltar either before OR after the ceremony, but you’ll need to show a paid booking before you’ll get a special license to marry.

Charmaine was fabulous and took care of ALL the paperwork - all we had to do was show up the day before the wedding, meet her, sign the relevant forms and declarations and then the rest of the day was ours. We had to meet her at 09:00 at the civil registry the day before.

If you would like more info, PM me - I can supply Charmaine’s number / email address - like I say, very easy and Charmaine took the stress and pain out of the administrative side.

One final thing - get at least one certificate Apostilled if you want to use it in Spain and ensure the translation is done by a Spanish translator IN SPAIN.  We used Marisela Hook, the judicial translator in Gibraltar and had to pay to get the certificate re-translated by a Spanish Translator based in Spain as the Oficina de Extranjeros wouldn’t recognize the translation done in Gibraltar.

Saludos, Darío
