We are considering having a pool enclosure built and the Town Hall in Arboleas have told us we will need a minor works permit.

To obtain the permit we need an architect or engineer to prepare plans and a report which we can submit to the Town Hall.

Can anyone recommend an architect or engineer who undertakes this kind of work?

I’m sure that the company fitting the screen should be able to do that and apply for the licence on your behalf.  You could check with them first to save the expense of getting an architect.  Good luck, I hope you get it sorted quickly.

Hi Cazmac22,

Thanks for your reply. We tried that and the company we will be using provided plans and a specification for the project. We took the plans to the Town Hall but they would not accept them.

They said that the report and plans must come from an independant architect or engineer. Can't understand why they wouldn't accept them but they are adamant that I get an architect or engineer to do the report and plans.

How pedantic!  I know that some town halls will accept the contractor’s plans.

Good luck with everything.

We used Antonio Martinez de la Casa for our renovation. It was obviously a bigger job than yours, but he talked us through our options, drew up the plans and arranged the necessary permissions through the Town Hall. I found him very supportive and he did remove a lot of stress. He speaks good English but obviously fully understands the Town Hall requirements.
