Hi ,we have energetic dogs that need to exercise off lead. They are very happy friendly dogs. Is the rambla a good place for this and they allowed off lead. Are there restrictions for dogs off lead?

Many thanks

Woodhouse kennals (on facebook) have a fenced run for hire. the other option is dog friendly beaches, but only at cetain times of the year

I don't know the legalities for leads, but I do know the rambler is not a good place. You can come across wold bore, and certainly snakes and prosession caterpillers and some wild dogs that will attack your dogs

There are lots of horror stories of dog injuries....

Hi, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but all dogs must be on leads at all times, in towns and on the rambla, of course this rule doesn't apply to the Spanish!!!!!!! also you must carry poop bags with you. if you are caught with you dogs off lead or without poop bags you will be fined. Land is cheap in Spain, so perhaps the answer is to buy a plot and fence it off for your dogs to run free.

Hi John

Many thanks for your reply. Maybe we have a rethink on La Perla & will look further out for property with more land. All relevant information is very useful.

Cheers

Hi Jenni , I’ve just returned from a month in mojacar . Countless people walking along the playa with dogs not on leads and dog poo every couple of hundred yards on the footpaths . Still dogs running on the beach which is nice to see them enjoying themselves but no signs of law enforcement . As in the uk it’s easier to sit in a patrol car and catch motorists . Easy money and bigger fines . Back here in the uk we are having big problems with sheep worrying . Especially now it’s lambing time and if you ask people to keep their dogs on a lead and stick to footpaths it results in a mouthful of abuse from certain types .
