We have an apartment and are in UK at the moment. Have just received by post 2 Withholding due to attachment order from the bank for 27 and 89,30 euros. The issuing body is the Diputacion of Almeria. Have no idea what these are or what they mean. The orders are dated 18.10.19 and the monies were taken from the account on 8.11.19. The account is always in credit with a text alert when the balance reaches 100 euros. Does anyone know what these are and what needs to be done? Have emailed Sabadell.

Thanks.

Generally this will relate to unpaid fines or taxes.  Diputacion de Almería is I believe Police.  If you have cars registered here and have not paid the local council tax, that would do it.  However this could relate to any unpaid official tax, fine or bill.

This is not unique to Sabadell - it would have occurred no matter which bank you were with.  Sabadell should be able to give you a clearer idea of what tax, fine or bill has gone unpaid though

Thank you for your reply. I have asked the bank and the company we use for our fiscal affairs, but have no idea what it could be for. We always use a hire car. Could it be for something like a speeding ticket?

Yes, quite possibly so; not sure about the 27€, but the 89€ sounds quite possible.

Dario

Have found out through the company we use for our fiscal affairs that it is for council tax and garage charges for 2018. No idea why they couldn't take from bank account and why it happened this year when it has been fine for last 11 years! Anyway, problem solved (ish).

Glad to hear it’s solved Annie, yes, these things don’t happen quickly here; there is a certain glacial inevitability about the money due being claimed ..... it is something here I think you can absolutely count on - if money is owed in any fashion, it will be recovered :-D

Anyway, once again, I’m very glad you at least know what it is for now
