Goldcar Bad experience.
We hired and paid for,in the UK., a hire car with Goldcar at Almeria airport.The clerk said he did not have that model but would upgrade us but would block Euros1500 instead of Euros1100,an exorbitant increase.We had £1200 left on our cr.card,so he said we would have to pay an extra £40,on a car hire of £6 or pay £132 Insurance,even though we have Annual Insurance with Zurich,which we showed him.He seemed very annoyed that we would not buy his Insurance cover..He was a very rude Argentinian and said "Have you not understood what I have told you 4 times already".When I asked for the Book of Complaints,he refused,saying "No,it wont do you any good" which I understand is against the Law.We had to pay the extra,but when we got into the car park the Goldcar spots were full of the original cars we had booked.Most of the people on our flight went off on a coach.Goldcar tried this scam several years ago,but then after many complaints,they have been OK. for a few years.Now it seems that when it is quiet,they are trying it again.I am reporting them to Almeria city Police for breaking the Law in refusing the Book of Complaints.I will never use them again.They offer cheap car hire,but it works out very expensive.
