Car hire from Almeria Airport

Most of the companies are ok but DO NOT use Goldcar ..... they are very well known for scams and trying to pressure you into taking their insurance, not only in here, but in other countries.

When I refused as I have my own policy, they told me that the 1200 euros deposit they needed, could not be held from my card as their was not enough money available on the card. In fact,  the card has a limit of 15,000 euros!! This meant that I had to take their insurance, or could not hire the car

When I checked with my card company, they informed me that Goldcar had reversed the transaction, seconds after I had put my pin in, which showed up as a failure. This happened twice.

Also,  Do You Spain are a car hire broker who should be avoided ....... prices look cheap, but the car hire companies add on extras.

Centauro and Sixt, are ok  as are Firefly,  (part of Hertz), but with any company, thoroughly check the car when you collect it and take photos of any damage, then report it to the company,  before  leaving the airport.

Al Andalus are very good and will meet you at the airport. They don't take credit cards - at least they didn't when I last booked with them -  so you'll need to have cash to pay them on arrival. But a very good service and good cars. https://alandaluscarhire.com
