We have just had a fourth flight cancelled to fly to the U.K. from Almeria  so are looking at flights from Gibraltar. Can a friend drive us to Gibraltar from Almeria or are taxis only allowed during this current situation?  All buses appear to have no spaces left if they are running at all.

Hi, I don't see how your friends can do this as they have to go through 3 provinces to get to Gib. Almeria, Granada & Malaga. Although all these provinces will be at phase 1 by Monday 18th May I thought that you were not allowed to go out of your province during phase 1.

I imagine they are returning to their place of residence, so travel is allowed

You are allowed to travel if you are going to your residence. We drove to Gibraltar from Almeria to catch a flight home on 27th April. The flight was diverted to Malaga because of the weather but they bussed us to Malaga, so no problem going through different provinces then.

Hola, we got home to the UK last week from Roquetas via Gibraltar , we hired a genuine taxi company who filled in relevant paperwork in case we were stopped . As it turned out we only saw one police vehicle going the other way, so no problem. We were dropped on the Spanish side of the border and this was the only difficult part of the whole journey. We had two suitcases , two flight bags , a backpack and a large handbag .Passport control was fine but then you have to walk to the airport, only several hundred yards but over rough surfaces , but because we are in our mid seventies and returning home for a at least 6 months it was a large amount of luggage and no sign of case trollies.( a note of caution there is no airport signs as you exit passport control so turn immediate left ) At the airport apart from seat spacing ,no signs of Any measures for virus control .Good luck, was a very long day over 15 hours from Roquetas to Shropshire.
