What is the best method of closing my Spanish bank account from the UK?  I cannot visit Spain at present to do so.

Regards

Kathleen

Hi Jenny

Does your bank have an online enquiries service through its website? Or a contact form on its website? That probably the most direct route to find an accurate answer to your question

When I joined my bank, Unicaja, it was a problem communicating as no one in the branch that I went into spoke English, but with the help of a friend who I do not see anymore I managed to open my account to pay bills for a long-term rental.   However, if the current situation keeps up I cannot see myself visiting Spain on a regular basis as I was doing, therefore I won't need the account.  I have never dealt with them online or by mobile, only in person when in Spain.  My utility bills were taken from my Unicaja account by the company that I am renting long-term from, but I may decide on giving up the rental depending on how the present 'virus' situation develops.

Regards

Kathleen
