If I have dual citizenship (my dad was Irish), will I still be a member of the EU?

Short answer - YES - as an Irish citizen you will be EU Citizens and will not be affected by Brexit (of course when you enter Spain and apply for Residencia, you do so on your Irish passports)

I'll tell ya wan ting lads and lassies - there are so many people from the UK becoming Irish, I think as an Irishman it's my duty to apply for UK citizenship. Does that mean I can wear a Panama Hat and drink an 'alf with the "boys"? Can I then apply to have Irish posters banned from this forum? Can I then  apply for a table in the pub quiz in Mojacar's Oldest Brit pub where questions like "There is nobody around and nobody's watching, what do most Brits like to do?  I might even be accepted in the Jolly Lemon for a session of Bingo. Why have I not applied to the UK authorities already? Will AndyMac, James and Kevin finally throw their arms around me?  -  Hmmmmmm! I think I'll remain a Paddy.

Upshot:- The "boys" are getting worried, we could soon be in the majority and could have somebody in the townhall.

If you wish to use an Irish passport why would you not do so and wholeheartedly celebrate your Irishness and never mind being a dual national? In any event being Irish, rather than British, brings out the best from the Spanish. It is an advantage.  Unless, of course, you wish to use your parents’ heritage as a ‘flag of convenience ‘ , come here, and then disappear into one of the many British ghettos that are around now, but hopefully, will disappear with Brexit.

I said what I said, because where I live has a sizable British ‘ghetto’. Won’t speak any Spanish, sit bare chested with the mandatory tattoos, watch Tottenham Hotspur or whoever else play in the English league, all with a dog accessory which they bring everywhere, doing dog rescues and slagging off the attitude of the Spanish regarding animals! Most of them incapable of speaking grammatically correct English, leave alone any other language. I have even overheard an English ‘auld wan’ complain that there were too many Spanish living where she lived, and that none of them spoke English! If I had my way I would deport 90% of them to good aul Brexitstan. When the Spanish overhear me speak to my wife in English, they understandably assume that we are British. It all changes when we say ‘hablamos inglese, pero no somos ingleses , gracias a dios, somos  Irlandeses’ . It opens all doors. 

I'll tell you Captango, I'll swop my Panama Hatted "Gentlemen" and their wives/partners for your Tottenham Hotspur supporting, bare chested, tattoo laden people anyday. But, I think I'll have to compensate you with some money too as I'd by far would be getting the better deal
