Been renting just outside Albox for nearly six months. Just got our most recent electric bill from our landlords: €455 for 60 days! (Endesa).  Previous one €355. Seems excessive......................can anyone advise...please? All we have added to the casa is a neater heater. Thanks, in anticipation.

Hi,

Allegedly electricity charges have gone up 25%' & Spain is now the most expensive country in Europe for electricity.

Some while back we changed from Endesa to Nordic as we wanted to pay offshore. Prices stable at about 50€ pcm so far for 3 BR apt.

Just changing to a plan with cheap rate. Change costs 15€+ IVA. You pay for everything here.

Outrageous bill.

Thanks Bob, investigating Nordic now as an alternative to Endesa (Los Gallardos) and CHC Energia (Palomares). The bills quoted by Brian and Sharon are far higher than ours and seem outrageous. Hopefuly they can get this sorted.

Just a thought but has the landlord given you a copy of the bill?

Hi Crancrank,

Thanks for your response.

Alas yes, we did get the bills, apart from the last one..................................but our casas are connected & they have more than one workshop.

I fear we are paying their bills as the bill is in their names although we were assured that we would have our own bill by the agents!

As we are new here can you tell me if there is a meter for each property?

They, who appear sweet, could assume that we pay!!!!!

Gracias,

Brian & Sharon

Each property should have its own meter but that isn't always the case here.

If it were me I'd get a check meter installed in the property that records only the electricity you use.

Cant speak for here but a check meter in the UK would cost about £50 plus a sparky for an hour to install it.
