Change of Province for Car tax

Hi Peter, 

I didn’t get a reminder last year (no surprise there!), so I called in to the local council in Albox. They checked the computer and told me I had to go to Huercal Overa as that was the area we were living in on 1st January (we moved to Albox on the 17th Jan). As I was not allowed to drive at the time (UK licence issue) They telephoned the Huercal Overa council, got them to email the bill to them and printed it off for me. I just took it to my bank and paid it there.

This doesn’t mean that your local council will do the same. . . But it does mean that they could!

I guess it will depend on your negotiating skills and the type of day the staff are having!

Hi, we had the same when moved from Granada to Almeria.  Had to go back to old town hall and sort payment for that year and the following year our new town halls in Almeria sorted both our vehicles (different addresses) so could be done locally.

Where ever it is registered on the 1st of January is where the bill is paid. That goes for all bills Cars IBI ect. For a long time now Andalusia have not sent out postal reminders. You can do everything over the internet.as for Andalusia province you can type in dipalme.org in you search bar. Scroll to find Hacienda. In the drop boxes type in your NIE and it gives options of things you have to pay. Coches urban tax rustic tax etc. You can download the payment sheet to pay at the bank or pay directly from the page.
