Hi, my husband and I are planning to move out ti Albox in August. We are not retired yet, planning to finish 31 July, do we have to have our P45s and pension statements or is a letter of acceptance of resignation accepted on visa application?
Also where is the nearest Spanish consulate for Albox please?

I can at least tell you the nearest Extranjería - Foreigners Office - that you’ll need to deal with once you’ve obtained your visa and arrived here; that will be the Oficina de Extranjeria in Almeria (Calle Marruecos 1)
You will of course have to obtain your NLV from the embassy or consulate in UK before arriving here. I believe the Embassy is in London, then there is a consulate in Edinburgh and one in Manchester.
Your best bet will be to ask for an information pack from the Spanish embassy as that will tell you definitively what is required to process your visa.
the mysteries of the visa application are still not explained on the various life in the sun programmes. I was surprised to find that there is a business working visa as shown on Life in the Sun where they said you have to purchase a business and then get a visa, always thought that you can't work here now if you come to live.

The “Business Working Visa” is just an application for a Work Permit, which while not impossible, is certainly not that easy to obtain

Hi, My wife and I have lived in Albox for 2 years and we love it here but I would recommend going through an agency step by step as there is a lot of paperwork.

Thanks Nigel, we've found a local English agent in Albox and going through them. Fingers crossed we're out there by August/September. You never know we may bump into you as the father in law runs the English corner shop in Albox :)
