Hi my husband and I are moving to the area, just put a deposit on a property.

We speak a small amount of Spanish, but need to improve, I had heard that there is Spanish lessons, where can we access these?

We also want to integrate and make friends locally so I was very pleased to access your forum.

We are back in UK now and it is pouring with rain

Hi, well, btw it was pouring with rain, thunder and lightning yesterday here lol.

You might find Spanish classes by asking at the town hall.

Some councils like Huercal Overa have free Spanish lessons Mondays and Wednesdays for beginners, usually 8-9.30. But these are full blown Spanish speaking teachers and it's full on from start to finish.

There's a course book that will most likely suffice no matter what town/course you find lessons.

Hi, Chevy aka Jim, is spot on as usual. Usually for the Council sponsored ones you require to produce your Padron to prove you are a local resident. Arboleas also has classes but often oversubscribed. Again would need to enquire at town hall.

Failing that it would be private tutors and Clare at Rambla cafe might assist. Also adverts in Internet cafe opposite APSA shop.

Lastly if you are interested in club activities check out The Almeria Focus Magazine AND directory free monthly and also on www. Scroll from page 100 onwards.

At times it appears that the population of Albox is solely Brit so you should have few problems linguistically.

Best wishes,

Bob and Sandra
