Hi, Abbeygate- we were with them when we had our 62,000€ burglary. Cannot praise them enough. Unfortunately so many conditions post settlement had to go elsewhere. Underwritten by Lloyds of London so good Complaint procedure. Do 'All Risks' which Spanish Policies don't.
Apartment is with Liberty Seguros but cottage is with Allianz and they are dreadful. After the December 2016 Inundation they left us without power for 6 weeks-no assessor for 4. It was as if, they have their motorhome & apartment, so low priority. We are currently 1240€'underpaid with little hope of settlement. To add insult to injury we then developed a leak. The first plumbers couldn't find us, the second lot were electricians and the 3rd were unspeakable. When I complained I was told by their Customer Services I should speak Spanish!!!!! The affrontary. We shall loose them and the Broker at the end of the year. We have already removed the apartment. You would be insane to consider them. Another firm to avoid is Almerimar Insurance which is underwritten by a Company in Alicante which in turn is underwritten by Lloyds of London. It was Lloyds appeal process which saved me/us from their lies and their bent loss adjuster.
Our Broker, Paul Salida of [email protected]. He placed us with Liberty Seguros. Flawless English but he is on a trial period as far as we are concerned.
Only Abbeygate & Linea Directa (Direct Line) are without brokers, one reason they are cheaper, but bad comments on customer feedback. Make sure of your jewellery allowance & valuables.
Rob, below, is so right.
And the very best of luck,
