Can anyone recommend an eye clinic that can test and treat AMD. I have an early stage of this disease in my right eye and need a prognosis. There is talk of a clinic in Vera called Veravision, has anyone had dealings with this clinic, do they speak English and are they expensive?

Hi Bob,

I used Veravision last year to diagnose and repair a detached retina.

They speak very good English and the costs were very reasonable.

I can really remember exactly what the costs were but no more than 150 euros and what I would say was I had monthly check ups for about 6 months following the repair which were all included in the cost.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Hope this helps

I agree.  Mariano Gomez is  v. good.  If you need an operation though you hzve yo go to his clinic in Almeria but for diagnosis and check ups very reasonable.  He also works for health service in Huercal Overa as i have gluecoma and often see him.on my checks at the hospital.

He did my retina repair using a laser at the Vera clinic so very convenient and no need for a hospital visit

Hi Everyone,

Can I ask, reading this thread am I right in saying that 'eye' problems arent; covered by the Spanish health system, it seems you all went private.

Kind Regards  Jenni
