Travelling with unvaccinated 12 year old

Hi.
I’m just looking for a bit of help. My son is not vaccinated and we are due to fly to UK beginning of December.
I have been looking at the government website and think it’s saying that he will have to take tests and quarantine.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
