Hi everyone. 3 years ago our daughter in law gave us her old iPad 2 . It has worked well until recently when we suddenly found an activation lock message on the screen. It is asking for the login details or email address and password. Unfortunately after all this time our daughter in law cannot remember what she used for this. Is there anyone out there who can unlock iPads which have this problem please. Thanks Digsie

With an iPad - pretty much forget it.  Unless you can unlock and switch off the “find my” in settings using the username and password that forms the Apple ID, it’s pretty much locked.

You might be able to take it to Apple in Murcia, and explain the problem.  As long as you can prove ownership, they should be able to put it into recovery mode, wipe it clean and take off the Apple ID associated with it.

Apple products have pretty rigid and well enforced anti-theft measures so they are notoriously hard to crack.

There is a guy in Albox that is a wiz with these things, might be worth taking it to him, he has a Tech shop just up from Mercadona in Albox, passed the english shop and the next row of shops on the same side as Mercadona.

I agree with Dario - had the same situation years back after being given an iPad - rendered useless as a result …
