Bankia debit cards blocked

Anyone else had problems with Bankia debit cards this week? Mine was refused in Lidl on Friday (luckily I had a credit card with me cos I had no cash). Then my husband’s card worked once for petrol then was refused at Mercadona (had cash with us that time - phew 😅)

Also I can’t get SMS codes anymore for online transfers etc.

We have a Bankia card and up to now we have had no problems hope you get it sorted.

It could be that they need you to go in the bank to update your Non Resident registration form. This has to be done every few years. Or if you are Resident maybe they need you to update some other form of I/D

Best to contact the bank.

This happened to us and we had no notification in advance.

Thank you both. We recently became resident but haven’t yet had chance to go in and inform them. We were waiting until we’d completed registering for tax purposes before doing that. Perhaps that’s partly the problem with the cards? Not sure why they’re now telling me we don’t have a phone number registered with them though. Will call in after New Year.

Yes it happened to me in Lidl. It refused me so I put card in a second time and it worked. In fact it’s happened to me about 3 times now but payment eventually goes through. ????
