What tax is there to pay when buying a house for less money than received from the sale of previous house?

2018 we moved from Valencia having sold our house, which we purchased in 2002 and lived in permanently since 2009. The house we have purchased in Almeria cost less than the proceeds of our previous house - what tax should we have to pay? Can we claim money spent on improvements? We are both 74.
