Job vacancy: This is not a job, we are looking for friends to join Vera and District Lions as volunteers

Vera and District Lions have a created a Friends of Group. We are looking for people to join the Lions, not as members but as Friends .
As a friend there will be no joining fee, no requirement to attend the monthly meetings.
You will be supporting the Lions. We will sign you as a Friend, and provide updates as to events and the work we are doing to support people. (If you wish)

We will arrange social events where we can all meet up.

You can become a Friend only or a Friend and Volunteer.

Likewise you can still volunteer at events such as Party in the Park and not join as a Friend.

If as a Friend you agree to volunteer it will allow the Lions to have a bank of volunteers to call upon. It will also help us with public liability insurance.

There will be no commitment to the amount of volunteering you do, as we know many have busy lifestyles.

Currently we are looking to open a Lions Charity Shop this will be staffed by Lions members (all voluntary) and Volunteers. There will Party in the Park later in the year, among other events we have lined up. (when the current situation has past) so plenty of opportunities to volunteer should you wish.
Currently we have the following roles we require volunteers to support
General event support
Shop support, either sales, or stock support
Shop stock collections
Collections point for stock
Fruit and vegetable collection within Palomares area in support of Turre Food bank
The list is basically endless

Mileage expenses can be claimed should you wish.

You may as a business want to become a friend, and support by promoting our events, or having a collection box, or by just showing you support. Even displaying our window sticker helps.

Vera and District Lions support a large area, we cover as far as Albox and surrounding area.

Please remember to be a friend you do not need to volunteer, and to be a volunteer you do not need to become a friend.
