Buying property in Illar - Page 2

Hi.only joined forum....we were thinking of buying 2 bed bank repossessed apartment in Illar.... agent was saying no management company set up and pool not up and running.he said pool be open in summer.anyone else on forum who live in this complex ? or view with intent to buy?  He told us a few British/German/irish have purchased apartments.we are extremely interested in buying one but afraid about pool and no management company involved.....any info /replies would be greatly appreciated.... thanks........trev

We are half way through completing on our property in Illar.

We were told the same thing about the pool, once all the apartments are sold, then the management co will before formed

and the pool completed

We looked at a few places and price was right on this also we looking for quiet not mad tourists area ..we are same as you hopefully purchase and get it furnished.we are in no rush as we already had summer holidays booked.possibly in October i might fill my car with items unused at home and get ferry to Santander and drive down for a few days..but it might be next year before we start using it .we going make decision this weekend we going  to proceed on the property and will keep you updated on it .

Just update ,we decided to go ahead with purchase of apartment in Illar,paying booking deposit on Monday and return to Spain later in March to proceed with purchase,

We completed on the purchase of the cortijo just over a week ago now and hope to move in at some point this week - just making it habitable enough to get in - then the real work starts! Would be great to meet up for a coffee

Congrats to you..we only paid booking deposit so we are a a long way off as yet .

Hopefully when we get key we will fly down and similar to yourself get it habitable.ive booked car ferry to Santander in October and going drive down and hopefully get it ready for next year .wishing you the very best and hopefully we shall meet you in illar ...
