I wonder how many other residents of Agua Neuva have seen dark red splodges on their villa walls since the heavy rain?

We have also noticed a lot on the pathway too which fortunately wash off.

Other villas on the estate also seem to be affected and now I am keen to know what we have been subjected to.

Looks as though our villa needs painting as a result!

Anyone else out there been a victim?

Best regards to all!

You will find that the blotches are dust spots ,I get the same when it rains ,it gets carried in the wind ,but just washes off normally

Thank you for your reply and I suspect that it's rain from the Sahara then, other than the other theory of birds gorging on olives?

We know it washes off the pathways but remains on the villa walls!

Kind regards

Veronica

unfortunately it is like a dye on the walls ground tiles do not absorb it but the exterior walls do

Yes....we have discovered this! Perhaps this is going to be an ongoing saga as our villa is/was white!

Thanks again

We also had these splodges. lots of them. Karcher  removed it from the terrace  tiles but not the pool surround. Pool man says it will wear off in time. Noticed on line that Valencia had a massive storm and a really scary looking water spout caused by a tornado so we could have been the victims of it's disgorging itself .

Thank you for your reply. It seems that the torrential rain has washed the stains away on the walls. Our pool sides however are still marked but time will wear those away.

I didn't know that Valencia was hit hard and one of my sons lives there so thank you for that information. I wonder if he coped with it!

Kind regards

You are welcome and glad the rain has washed away most of what it deposited!  HOpe your son was ok.  Those poor people down on Costa del Sol got it bad too this weekend.  Worst weather we have experienced in years here.

kind regards

Moira

Hi Moira, I didn't see that it was you on your earlier message....doh! Anyway, my son is okay as he had moved away from the Valencia area already (without telling me)! If I had known I need not have concerned myself!

i had no idea that the Costa suffered as well. The weather patterns really are getting more weird. Nothing is stable anymore seemingly.

So glad the rain has cleaned the villa but it flooded our garden lights out and caused a complete power cut this morning! Luckily our builder came and tested all the circuits and found a dodgey wiring system we were left iwth when we bought the place. All is okay now but we must avoid using that particular circuit outside.

I hope you don't mind my asking but i have seen all the oranges on your tree and wonder if they are edible? If they are and you have any to spare could we have a few please? We like to add citrus to our jug of drinking water and also freshly squeezed orange juice would be nice too.

I hope all is well with you and you didn't suffer any any ill effects from the rain. We are always here if you need any help.

Kind regards

Veronica

Hi Veronica

I too didn't realise it was you writing re the 'red splodges' so duh to me too.  ha ha.  Anyway as for the oranges, we always have plenty and quite a few fell off the tree during the last bout of rain.  How many do you want?  Keith will put some in a bag for you.  We both have been indoors mostly this past week as we have colds but went out yesterday to pick up my new specs which were ready.  Just let me know how many oranges you want. Happy to oblige and know they are being appreciate - we can't eat/drink them all.

kind regards

Moira and Keith x
