Water pressure

My shower works off a gas boiler and when I put the hot on it comes through roasting hot, but when I feed in the cold it appears that the water pressure drops on the hot side and the boiler cuts out, is there and way to deal with this ? I have tried every setting I can think of but I now think I need some kind of electric pump to keep the pressure constant while I shower, and suggestions would be apprec
