Hi ,

We have recently moved to a lovely property in Chirivel from the UK. The house is run by solar electricity and we are having major problems with the electricity going off all the time. We have renewed any batteries that need renewing. But we still seem to be losing power. My husband is disabled so we need reliable electricity. Does anyone know if there is a mains electricity supply in Chirivel if so who is the electricity supplier. Is it a very costly thing to do to get connected to the mains. We have fourteen solar panels and twenty four batteries. Can someone help please.

Kind regards

Jackie.

Hi,.know what you mean as we are on Solar although would recommend in the first instance that your system is thoroughly checked.& not by a cowboy!!!!

1. Really suggest you get.your Solicitor to speak to the power Company abd

2. This could be really expensive!!!! 15 years ago we were quoted £20,000 to lay mains power to our finca and just last year some friends had power.installed.where.thay actually had a power pole on their property & were illegally tapping in. Anyway new buyers wanted.legal mains and it was 30,000€.

We have a wonderful.Solar chap but he only.speaks Spanish.Thank the Lord.for.Google Translate and his honesty & professionalism. We don't use Brits.

Every.best wish,

Bob and Sandra

Hi Bob and Sandra,

Thank you so much for your reply. We have just had a new battery replaced as we could see that there was something wrong with it. But we are still having problems

The man who installed the system four years ago is coming to service the whole thing on tuesday. He is Spanish and doesn't speak English I agree with you. Thank god for google translate. He is so nice and very honest. Hopefully he can get everything sorted out.

I will also look into the mains side of things. But it sounds very expensive.

Thank you again for your time and advise

Kind regards

Jackie.

When I get back to Mojacar and on laptop will drop you a few more points. Believe me I know how frustrating it can be. Glad he's Spanish.

Hi I really get a lot out of reading the posts on here and all the helpful information that is given especially by Dr Bob who has in fact helped me before. We are moving to lubrin end of August and are in the process of buying our new home and have been looking at solar power. Seeing the figures quoted for electricity connection it's making me think seriously about solar. Can anyone recommend an installation company.

Thank you

Kathy
